Cornus mas "Vesna" in winter silhouette
Tree was repotted in spring and then on exhibition in summer. I have not done any major adjustment therefore. It needs editing and wiring in spring. As you can see it has abundance of flower buds so I can expect a lot of yellow flowers in early spring as traditional message of incoming spring. Now it will go under sawdust to winter storage till March.
Fraxinus No.2 with winter silhouette
Few days ago I was taking pictures of this ash bonsai with nice autumn colors as you can see on pictures. Now, this week I had one night when temperatures dropped to roughly -5 °C. On that morning I looked on tree through m window and I see few of trees fallen off. As temperatures started to rise during the day and frost released almost all leaves fell off.
So today I took my camera and made few pictures. This is moment of truth for deciduous bonsai artist because you can see if ramification during this season improved or not. Judge for yourself. Now, I have to find much better pot for this tree, bit smaller, and repot it during next spring. I guess it will look better. We will see.
